Meet Janet Kassalen

Author of “Flip Flap Try” and “A Penguin Family”

Author, Janet Kassalen, has written and published her second children’s book, A Penguin Family . . . Finding Joy. Her first story, Flip Flap Try . . . A Cardinal’s Journey, was originally written as a speech for a project in the Toastmasters International advanced manual on Story Telling. Subsequently, the author received her Distinguished Toastmaster award. Right from the start, the author wanted to publish her story someday. Starting in November 2016, with the help of an author’s assistant and book coach, the author’s speech was transformed into a powerful children’s story with a grownup message. Janet lives at home with her husband. She enjoys playing viola in an all volunteer orchestra. Playing classical music feeds her soul. Her most recent hobby is learning to play banjo. Janet has written two children’s stories with hopes of writing more plus a book about her family.
